ONE OF EIGHT MUSIC VIDEOS SELECTED TO MAKE THEIR NEW YORK PREMIERE
ONE OF THE ONLY COUNTRY MUSIC VIDEOS TO EVER SCREEN AT TRIBECA
WINNER OF THE 2023 ACM AWARD FOR VISUAL MEDIA OF THE YEAR +
THE 2023 CMT AWARD FOR COLLABORATIVE VIDEO OF THE YEAR
NASHVILLE, TENN. – Proving the limitless impact of their ACM-winning platinum #1 hit “wait in the truck,” HARDY and Lainey Wilson will screen the official music video for the game-changing murder ballad as an official selection at the 2023 Tribeca Festival this June. “wait in the truck” is one of the only country music videos to screen at the festival in its 22-year history.
“It’s amazing to see how far this song has taken us so far,” HARDY says. “I’m grateful that it’s resonated with people and happy to see that story songs like this have a place still in country music and beyond. Thank you to the Tribeca Festival for having us, it’s so cool to be included.”
“This year has been filled with love and abundance – I’m blown away by the reaction the song and video have received since it premiered. It’s an absolute honor to be a part of one of the only country music videos to debut at the Tribeca Film Festival,” Wilson shares. “HARDY is a big brother to me and I’m forever thankful that he brought me into this ballad. This song embodies country music, with difficult topics and real-life situations that people can relate to.”
“It’s really a huge accomplishment to make it to Tribeca, not just for myself but for all cast and crew involved,” adds director Justin Clough, who will make his Tribeca debut with “wait in the truck.” “Tribeca wasn’t something that was in the picture during production, so for it to have gotten to this point, and have been officially selected, is really a crazy thought. I’m grateful for the love that we’ve received, and I’m excited to attend and meet the other talented filmmakers that have also been selected.”
Showing three times throughout the June 7-18 New York City festival, the ACM Visual Media of the Year and CMT Collaborative Video of the Year award winner continues its impressive run alongside official music videos from Lizzo (“Special”), The Black Keys (“Wild Child”), and just five other national and international selections.
“wait in the truck” has been viewed over 45 million times on YouTube alone, named one of the best songs all-genre of 2022 by Los Angeles Times, Billboard, American Songwriter, Holler, and more. The RIAA platinum certified bombshell topped the Mediabase country chart last month, and helped make HARDY + Wilson the two most-awarded artists at the 2023 ACM Awards last week.
Big Loud Records’ heavy-hitter HARDY has never been just one thing. Uncaging a new chapter, HARDY soared to new heights with the release of the mockingbird & THE CROW, his critically acclaimed half-country, half-rock sophomore album, adding to over 2.7 billion career streams. The dichotomous, 17-track effort debuted top five all genre on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and kinged seven additional Billboard charts in its first week, including Top Country Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Album Sales. The pride of Philadelphia, Miss. has earned his reputation as “a promising purveyor of keeping the spirit of classic heavy Southern rock alive” (American Songwriter), “capable of writing the big hits for radio, obstinate enough to do something completely unexpected, and savvy enough to find the throughline for it all” (Rolling Stone). A 5X ACM award winner, HARDY is a three-time CMA Triple Play award recipient, the 2022 BMI Country Songwriter of the Year, and a three-time AIMP Songwriter of the Year. HARDY has written 13 #1 singles including his own double platinum #1 single “ONE BEER” feat. Lauren Alaina + Devin Dawson, chart-topping, platinum Dierks Bentley + BRELAND collaboration, “Beers On Me,” and game-changing platinum duet “wait in the truck” feat. Lainey Wilson. He’s previously toured with Thomas Rhett, Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell, and more, and flies nationwide on his sold-out, 19-date headline arena tour, the mockingbird & THE CROW Tour, this fall.
